Rodgersia Pinnata  Rodgersia Pinnata

A magnificent herbaceous perennial for humus-rich, damp, well-drained, light shady conditions, although it will tolerate all aspects. Large palm-like leaves are produced from spring onwards, and individual leaflets will grow to 8".

The early bronze coloured foliage (see below) gradually turns green as the growing season moves on.
In mid-summer plumes of feathery light pink or cream flowers are displayed 5 feet high above the statuesque foliage.

Young foliage.

Good for traditional herbaceous and mixed borders where it will form a large clump over time, but would also be a foil for cottage type gardens and flower borders.
